Dealers fail to appreciate benefits of playing it cool
An erratically driven car that failed to stop for police set alarm bells ringing in Tuol Kork district on Monday. Officers chased the vehicle through the streets, finally pulling over the spooked speedsters, who were also ferrying two packages of an illegal substance.

Samurai sword bullies disappear like ninjas
Two siblings were left for dead after they came face to face with a pack of samurai sword-wielding bullies on their way to school in Phnom Penh’s Chamkarmon district. With apparent indifference to witnesses, the gang openly attacked the pair as they walked to school, leaving them both with serious injuries. The thugs escaped by the time police arrived and are now the subject of an investigation. Deum Ampil

Touchy thug wrings rubberneckers’ necks
An innocent glance at an angry thug put two men in Phnom Penh’s Tuol Kork district in hospital. The pair allegedly aroused the ire of the sensitive suspect when one happened to catch his eye in a manner he found upsetting. The peeking pair pleaded innocent to the self-conscious stranger but were beaten by the man and his accomplices for their eyeful misdemeanour. Lot attendants exhibit attendant sense of duty
A 32-year-old alleged moto thief made his second mistake of the day when he attempted to park the stolen vehicle at a legitimate parking operation in Phnom Penh’s Tuol Kork district on Monday. Police were alerted to the tagged and ticketed bike, whose upset owner had already filed a complaint with them, and arrived to arrest the thief. The suspect tried to claim the moto as his own but the evidence against him was overwhelming. Rasmey Kampuchea

Husband takes swing at arguing against divorce
A Poipet mother and daughter trying to get a woeful son-in-law and husband out of their lives were both allegedly injured by the man when he turned up to confront his wife at home. The daughter wanted a divorce from the husband, who gave her further reason when he assaulted both her and her mother, before fleeing. The two family members were sent to hospital while the man remains on the run. Koh Santepheap
