Three Vietnamese nationals were seriously injured and another was slightly injured in a head-on collision between two buses in Svay Rieng province on Saturday morning, a traffic official said.
Ouch Saran, director of the Svay Rieng land traffic office, said the accident took place when an SH company bus running between Phnom Penh and Ho Chi Minh city hit a motorbike, veering into another bus from the Van Rec company travelling in the opposite direction.
“The injured victims were immediately taken to hospitals in Svay Rieng and Vietnam for treatment,” Saran said.
According to Saran, the buses and the motorbike were being held at the police station until a decision was made regarding compensation for the four injured men.
A staffer at Van Rec who did not wish to be named said the company paid for the treatment of all four passengers, who were injured by broken glass when their heads hit the bus windows.
