Faux lawyer fleeces teen mark of motoA 19-year-old Battambang man who thought he was swinging with the rich set found himself out of pocket when it all turned out to be an elaborate swindle. The youth said he was invited to a party on Thursday with a well-garbed man claiming to be a rich lawyer. Later on, the suave talker implored the victim to make a charitable mission with him to buy clothes for orphans. After stocking up on $2,000 worth of glad rags, the “wealthy” friend explained he wasn’t carrying a cent on him, and begged lend of the rube’s moto to withdraw some cash. Arrested duo allegedly get high on own supplyTwo men admitted to having months of previous experience in the drug delivery business after police raided their place of work last Thursday. The raid, in Kampong Cham’s Memot district, netted three small packages of yama, a scale, a moto and three phones – as well the confessions of the 21 and 25-year-old. The dealers were also users of their product, but did not identify the source of their trade, police reported. Nokorwat.

A Kampong Cham man was finally nabbed on a year-old arrest warrant after hitting someone with a stick at a party and going on the run. The indelible incident allegedly took place at a village shindig in Memot district in July, 2011. The suspect, 24, wacked a fellow partygoer in the head and leg before taking off. An arrest warrant was issued last October, and  the suspect found that one year later, the charges still stuck. Nokorwat
Broke kid kicked out of home resorts to theft Cries of distress from a neighbour mobilised residents in Phnom Penh’s Sen Sok district to catch a young thief on Thursday. The 24-year-old victim, a student, arrived home to find two men rifling through his rented house. He shouted for help and vigilant neighbours showed up on the double, catching one 18-year-old thief, who later told police he had been kicked out of home and had no money. Nokorwat
Knifepoint robbery catches up with suspectOne half of a machete-wielding duo who held up three different women this month was arrested on Saturday after some careful sniffing-out by local plod. Over the course of the spree, the 26-year-old and his mate allegedly knocked off four mobile phones, jewellery and more than $30 from their victims. After his arrest, the suspect admitted to the crime. He was sent to court.
