Tsunami Warning Canceled for Alaska, Canada

U.S. officials have canceled a tsunami warning for parts of southern Alaska and the Pacific Coast of Canada, following a strong 7.5 magnitude earthquake that shook an area just off the Alaska coast.

Officials say tsunami waves are no longer a threat to the area.

Alaskan officials had urged evacuations in some low-lying regions on the coast after the warning was issued.

The quake was located about 100 kilometers west of Craig, Alaska at a depth of about 10 kilometers.
