The Cambodia Triathlon Federation has cancelled the 2012 Angkor Wat International Duathlon in Siem Reap on October 28.
A post on the Federation’s website on Tuesday stated that the decision to cancel was in adhering to the official national mourning of 100 days for King Father Norodom Sihanouk, who passed away on Monday morning.
The race event had been given permission to help celebrate the King Father’s 90th birthday, which was to fall on October 31.
“We wish to thank all our original sponsors for their kind support and all our athletes to seek their kind understanding in this time of great sorrow for the nation,” added the Federation in their post.
