Sen Sok barber reunited with briefly stolen moto 
A barber had a close shave with forever losing his motorbike when a 19-year-old construction worker stole it from under his nose. On Monday morning, the barber awoke in his rented room in Phnom Penh Sen Sok district to find his bike missing. To his relief, a security guard soon told him he’d seen the moto at the construction site where the suspect worked. The young thief admitted to stealing the bike, which was returned to the barber. Brother’s keeper not able to keep his cool
A birthday party had a not-so-happy conclusion on Wednesday night when police arrested a partygoer’s brother for punching his sister-in-law in the face. The trouble began when the woman’s husband returned late from the party, angering his wife, who proceeded to hit him in the head with a wooden stick. The man’s brother then intervened, punching the woman several times. She called the police, and the suspect confessed to punching her, saying he was drunk and could not control himself. Nokorwat


Chamkarmon chumps rob, injure paraplegic
Police in Phnom Penh’s Chamkarmon district are looking for four men accused of snatching a disabled vendor’s necklace on Tuesday night. The victim, 46, who cannot use her legs, was 
taking a moto home with her niece when the men approached on two motorbikes and snatched her necklace, causing her to fall off the bike. The woman was slightly injured after her fall and a subsequent scuffle with the suspects. Kampuchea Thmey

Thieves threaten fruit of fruit farmer’s loins
Three thieves stooped so low as to threaten a farmer with shooting his five-year-old son if he didn’t hand over his motorbike on Wednesday. Police said the father, 29, and his son were sleeping in their fruit plantation in Kandal’s Kien Svay district when the three masked men appeared and aimed a gun at the boy. The suspects escaped on the stolen bike and the man reported the theft to police, who are investigating. Nokorwat

Woman avoids thieves, but not concussion
A 50-year-old motorbike passenger was badly injured when she leapt from the moto to escape thieves trying to snatch her necklace and purse. Police in Phnom Penh’s Daun Pen district said the woman had asked a motodop to take her to a local market, when two men on a motorbike began chasing her, causing her to jump off the bike, hit her head, and fall unconscious. The suspects escaped and the woman was sent to a nearby clinic for treatment.
